Its working fine with individual chat windows but through chatroom its open a upload pop-up, select file, showing message file sent to 2 users but end user didnt received any file.

Hi, I am new to freichat. I have just purchased the extension but I am unable to even get it installed. I keep receiving a 500 error. Here are my steps:

1- Upload zip to site directory (first level of joomla)
2-Unzip folder
3-type in a browser the directory http://mysite/freichat/installation/index.php

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

I have successfuly integrated Freichat using a custom integration - site members' username and avatars are fully integrated.

Launching individual chat/IM conversation with specific users from the web page are also working, using the documented JavaScript function

FreiChat.create_chat_window_mesg('the_username','the_user_id');

However this only works on desktop/laptop browsers... when Freichat is launching for mobile and tablet users this javascript function does not work.

Can somebody shed some light on this, and/or suggest how to get this important function working on mobile and tablet devices?

I'm new here and I want to thank you for freichat. It's great.
But I have a little problem with the translation.
The french file included in the zip is not complete. So I took the original english version which I translated in french.
Everything is ok except for a few variables:

$ frei_trans ['default_status'] = "I am avalaible" (in french: Je suis disponile)
$ frei_trans ['pwdby'] = "Powered by" (in french: réalisé par)

they are not translated (see picture below)

installed perfectly and works fine on the frontend, but any changes you make in the backend freichat not record. is as if the freichat not to record the information that I change.

I found FreiChat as one of the few free chat modules - great respect for that fact first.

Tested it online, downloaded it, tried to install... And here we go with the problems:
Installation went fine until "params.php" , at this point my browser tried to load something but it took forever, nothing happened.
Downloaded the whole site again and installed it locally with xampp, everything went fine, I was able to chat and well, it just worked.
Uploaded everything again, refreshed the databases, changed the hardcode.php but now it doesn't show me online users ( says " Getting list of online users ..... " ) and it doesn't show the chatrooms ( whenever I want to create a new one, a blank site appears and firefox loads itself to death again... )

If you want to test it, there are two test accounts, test1 and test2, passwords are the same as the usernames.

What I think might be the problem is a wrong path to the tmp folder in the Joomla! settings, but I just can't get the right one... tried so many things and it still gives me errors.

EDIT: I just retried putting the right tmp path as well as I solved the "JFolder::create: Path not in open_basedir paths" error. Now I can install any plugin, module or whatever without errors. But when I tried to re-install FreiChat, it still hung itself up at params.php :/

Well, you heard this stuff so many times, you really must be tired of it already, but I hope you can help me in any way ;)

User Authentication found on freichat smart custom installation - step 3 I have no idea what to do!

I've copy and paste the first code already now this is what i got

and these are the only instructions

You need to edit above code in such a way that the userid is stored in the $ses variable of the current user and null if the user is a guest
Then replace $ses=0; in your copy-pasted code with your edited code

so this is what I've done go to the first code and look for

$ses=null;

then change it to

$ses=0;

then i got this message " Could not authenticate user . Please verify your edited copy-paste code and make any required changes "

Is there a quick way to delete the chatrooms history conversations ??
Most of our rooms are public and we noticed some people were talking about porn and we absolutely have to delete those conversations !

What I have to do next?:-

1. Is my .htaccess and .htaccess.preinstall files blocking anything? If "yes" then please give me a working .htaccess file. [Please note that I had not modify anything on the htaccess and .htaccess.preinstall files]

There is no restriction to access the freichat folder.

1. Do I have to upload the "Freichat" in a different directory instead of the home (base) directory?

2. Anything else?

In Joomla (but that probably does not matter) how can I change the size of the 'Chat Room' button. I found where to change the font size etc. But it is bound by some width somewhere that I cannot find.
