Ive just watched the video for installing Freichat.v.9.5 and followed the instructions -

- Unzipped download,
- copied to Joomla directory

But when i then try and run the installation page - http://commerce3.derby.ac.uk/~st100284606/joomla/freichat/

I get the 404 page cannot be found error message.

I have also tried this page to run the installation - http://commerce3.derby.ac.uk/~st100284606/joomla/freichat/installation/install.php

But also get the same error message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I've been very happy with Freichat but today we had over a dozen people chatting and my web hosting got shut down for "high CPU overload".
We're running version 9.2 and using "Short Polling". Would using Comet polling be better?

I installed your application. Everything worked fine, but now I do not see users online. Chat disappears after about 3 minutes.

Hi, have downloaded your free version and are considering upgrading to the platinum version,

I need it so the registered users can only see a specific user group in the whos online menu,
I have pretty much achieved this via 'Who should be on the online users list' in the backend however the issue is now the specific user group cannot see the registered users.

Basically I need it so the registered user can only see and messages this specific user group but the specific user group can see everyone and message everyone.
I need the above for client privacy reasons.

Please advise if this is possible.

I installed freichat in joomla platform. I respective tutorial exactly and it worked out well, I published, but when I load the chat page does not appear. please help yourself.

I initially installed Freichat locally to test and it installed perfectly. So then I installed it on our internal server to use with on of our applications. The chat message window shows up however it does not show the logged in user's name instead it shows as guest. It is passing the userid to freichat/main.php

I have verified that it is calling the correct fields in the database to get the username. As I mentioned, this is working fine on my local wamp but not on the server. This is an internal server so I am unable to send any links. Also, on the admin page, the Moderation Page only has the side menu and your logo at the top. The rest of the page is blank. On my local version it has the table with the list of users, number of messages etc. I did a reinstall to see if any of this would be corrected and it didn't help.

Hello. I currently have shoutbox running as a chat on my SMF forum. I wanted to try out FreiChat. I unzipped it and uploaded all directories and files to my server. I navigated to the freichat installation page on my site and went through the install process. I can log in just fine to the adminster panel. It even tells me that users are logged in and other information. However on my forum, I cannot see any sort of freichat or anything different. I then installed the mod onto the SMF forum, it also told me that the install was successful, but I cant see anything different.

When I click on configuration in freichat I get the following error.

When I click on create a chatroom I get

I have upgraded freichat to corporate version. But i cannot use mobile chat. I have tried adress forum/freichat/client/main.php. The result is blank page.

My sistem is smf and with mod freichat integration and i have tried mobile chat with galaxy s3. My forum site and frei chat is working ok.

I just installed Freichat (paid version) on joomla 3.1 and I have a couple troubles :

-If I change something (whatever) with Theme Magic, the chat goes totally wrong. I created a new theme, edited it to change just a title color or a background color, saved and set it as default, and then on the frontend I get all the windows stacked up in the bottom left with no real styling. (check http://blog.ekinoxe.org)

-I read another post about someone being unable to delete the first room. I understood it's meant to be this way so at least a room is present. My problem is that if I edit that room to rename it, it gets renamed but then I can't enter it anymore from the frontend.

**edit** I found out why my Fun Talk room got stuck. If you rename into something with an "apostrophe" (hope it's the right name in english, i mean this sign : ' ) you can't enter the room anymore. Try to rename one into "L'entrée" for example.

Just installed latest version on a joomla site with CB

after reducing the number of original chat rooms to 2 and renaming them, they are now not showing

can make a new chatroom - but it too disappears

any suggestions?

I'm sorry I do not speak English so I use the google translator. I installed the module equivalent in the description and all set but not displayed. If you set the default template beez2 it works, but if I set a different template no longer works. What could be the problem? Thanks
