Used Freichat a long time ago on this website (www.projektduga.nl) and tried to reinstall after seeing there is a new version. I first de-installed, cleaned up database and reinstalled and everything went well but I am not able to have the Freichat show up. Hello, I'm running a Simple Machines Forum (version 2.0.4) and here's the issue that I'm having...

The applicable site is http://forums.roflstompgang.com/

I'll try to breakdown this process in a timeline:

1. I found out about FreiChat via the SMF Mod site (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3711)

2. I installed the Module (found at the SMF Mod site)

3. At the mod site, I was additionally directed to codologic.com

4. I downloaded the free client, with intent to do the full pro version (mobile and chatroom) if everything turned out alright.

5. I installed the client via FTP at http://forums.roflstompgang.com/freichat

6. I went to ../freichat/installation and copied the code provided to ..Themes/default/index.template.php as directed (before **). I also re-installed the module to be safe, and found in several sources that if the module appears to install it. (I installed the contents of the module in the SMF root, in Themes/default, and via the Package Manager in my Admin CP).

7. I completed the installation and went directly to my site to see the chat had appeared (was *very* excited).

8. I clicked on one of the links on the navigation bar (Forums) and the chat had disappeared.

9. I refreshed and it did not appear.

10. I went back to "Home" (SimplePortal) and it still did not appear.

11. I tried with Firefox (Google Chrome is my default) and it appeared once, but followed suit with Google Chrome after I refreshed the page or I clicked on one of the navigation links (Forums) and went back to the Index page.

12. I deleted the Cache, history, and cookies in Chrome....... And chat worked/appeared again... But only once.

13. I did the same in Firefox... Same results.

14. After refreshing the page again or going to another page of the same site......... Same results as before (chat did not appear).

15. I tried re-installing... No positive results.

16. I searched for answers on Google relating to this problem... And found many different problems, but tried troubleshooting with the same directions as given to other users on this site, and on other sites --- No results.

17. I found freichat on my source code listed several times in both browsers (Chrome, Firefox).

18. I found that my case is something that I can no longer resolve, and has apparently not been the same exact issue for others so far... So if we are indeed to find an answer, this may help others who may be facing a similar situation.

19. Now I'm asking for help.

I am trying to install freichat custom version for a php website i developed myself. I have a login page, a login action script, and then a members' area page. I have stated the url of the installation as the members' area page (mysite/members.php).

Where I ran into issues is the User Authentication guide. After following the necessary steps, and when I click the "click me once you have logged in to your website" button, I get the following error:

":( Could not authenticate user . Please verify your edited copy-paste code and make any required changes"

I installed the free chat version correctly, all is fine and the chat works, but after 1 or 2 days the chat disappears and i can´t get him back...
I´m doing nothing, i never changed the settings after the days... i tried all, but i can´t find a solution, the chat always disappears after a time...
I would be really happy if someone could he help me with my problem!

I was planing to test Freichat on my community website, but then I realized, that there is some base64 code within the script files, which made me feel uncomfortable.

Could you please let me know, why you are using hidden code in your program.

I moved freichat to another site with another URL. I copied the whole site through FTP and I copied the whole database.
So everything is EXACTLY the same.

Everything works on the new URL, but freichat does not show anymore.
Can anyone help me please?

Not sure what I am missing but I cannot find any straight forward/concise info on how to do this. I tried installing a few months ago and got nowhere. Now I see you have fixed the SugarCRM installation bug and I can get freichat to install using 'SugarCRM' in the installation drop down. I see the proper username and password in the hardcode.php, I see the tables in MySQL, I see the users etc. in the freichat backend, but when I log into SugarCRM I don't see freichat. When I ctrl+u I do see t freichat in the page code and the addressing looks correct. Any help is appreciated. By the way I am running 6.5.

Hi, i installed freichat on my joomla 2.5 site with community builder.
I tried the direct chat on two computers at the same time.
On one computer (win xp, chrome) it worked nicely.
On the other one (mac, chrome) i went offline about every 5 seconds.
I set both busy and offline timeouts to a very high value.

Can someone point out how to solve it?

I just upgraded. Love the new features but there are a few snags. Two main problems:

1) there is an overlap of text. This only happens on one of my two workstations. It happened in Chrome and Opera browsers. I was going to upload an image from Chrome but I don't see the file attachment option here. It was here this morning. What happened?

2) I can't send email conversation. Admin configuration for mail is set to "Mail()" The sending conversation with worked perfectly with 8.0 but not with 8.7 where I now get this error:
"Invalid address: You must provide at least one recipient email address.
Message was not sent.

Mailer error: You must provide at least one recipient email address."

Whats to be done about the overlap?

The latest version is a great improvement. Love the beep for every message. Now I do not have to worry about missing anything.

I have two workstations both using an Opera browser that I am testing Freichat on. One one workstation the chat works like a charm. In the other everything except the Send conversation and send file options don't work. I see a "javascript: void(0)"

Every other day or so the chat module on my site, which has a minimum of 10 members, will display a whopping 23-28 guests who appear out of nowhere and then vanish simultaneously 10 minutes later. I cannot 'see' these guests on my page counter. I cannot 'talk' to these guests. They never respond and almost always vanish one by one or simultaneously whenever I attempt to say "Hi...who the F$%K are you?"

So who or what are these ghosts guests, invisible to stat counters and completely non-interactive, haunting my site?

Is anyone else experiencing ghost guests?

Very good. Simple, easy installation.

But I have some doubts.

1) The number of users logged in Freichat that appears is not equal to the number of site users loggeds. There is no way to send pictures here. But can be found by visiting my website (www.gentedecente.com.br).
Why?

2) Translated the frontside to the Portuguese, my language. Replace all the words pronounced by special html codes. But the window for logged in users, appears the word "available" is not rectified even after it was changed in language file. (Estou dispon

3) When I'm logged appears the word "me" and not my nick bd Joomla 2.5. Has as to appear to modify the name of who is logged in?

These are my main questions.
