I have installed freichatx with joomla and everything seems to work alright except that it doesn't save configuration changes.
I think I have assigned the correct permissions (777) to arg.php.
Any advice?

Not really sure what is going on, I decided to give freichat a new chance, and hoped that it would go fine this time.
I've installed it on my development site, to make sure that it doesn't conflict with anything.
After publicicing the module, it just shows a big white box on the left part of the site.
It also shows the status window correctly at the bottom, but it can't do anything, as what I suspect is the chat window is just a big white box (it starts outside the left edge).

according to the readme.txt:

Note anyone wanting cyrillic characters or having issues with languages in chat must disable wordwrap.
One can do that by going to
~/freichat/server/freichat.php
Search and comment the following line:
$message=mywordwrap($message);
It should look this way:
//$message=mywordwrap($message);

but I searched ~/freichat/server/freichat.php and could not find
$message=mywordwrap($message);

the chat is working just fine but when i chat with others in arabic, hebrew or chinese and some other languages i only see ???

Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.
Could you please help?

Thanks for your great script. I was wondering if you could help me on something. I have installed it and tested it without any problem on my test site on Joomla 1.7. But I have a few questions:

My problem is that the Chatroom tab (frei_tab) is placed too high on my page and is partially going on my site logo, which doesn't look nice. I would like to lower it (about 100 pixels) so it doesn't fall on the logo. Could you tell me how to do it? my test site is: http://test.studiozip.com/site4/en/

Also, my site is multilanguage (english and greek). If I translate the language file in greek (which I will gladly send you after), will it be possible to assign different languages on site?

Finally, as other users, I have the same issue with the "powered by EvNix" at the bottom. Actually it would not bother me if it was appearing only upon opening the box. It's only bothering me as it shows at all times. Is it possible to fix this by making it appear only when opening the box? If not, I will wait for your subscription option when available.

After I change the path to "/" where elgg is installed I keep getting the following error:

i am having problem with FreiChatX-I module...constantly reporting "fetching user data" and the chat box is nowhere it is suppose to be..

I'm getting this error in Firebug after installing the latest Freichatx.
Joomla 1.5, CB 1.7
installation steps taken
1)Backup Theme
2)Delete Freichat Directory
3)Upload zip file and unarchived
4)Installed Freichat, modified parameters
5)Disabled Freichat Joomla module
6)uninstalled Freichat Joomla module
7)Installed new Freichat Joomla module
8)Enabled new Freichat Joomla Module
9)Uploaded theme archive

Any ideas?
BTW, I went in and commented that line out, and then I got this error:
FreiChat.init_chatrooms is not a function

Some answers:
How do I uninstall Freichat?
Look in the template/index files of your site for the Freichat code, remove it, then remove the SQL queries and Freichat folder. I recommend PHPMYADMIN to do the database handling.

Freichat isn't working anymore!
I more or less experience this problem myself when I make theme changes or changes to Freichat (CSS). I recommend making backups of the site; it's what I do. Just Google PHP Backup and look for the software for you. Also, server changes can do this (Like Ads or Analytics of any kind)

Freichat doesn't work at all!
I suggest disabling forced scripts on your page and check to make sure your database settings are legit and all the files are there and unmodified. Make sure you went through the install first. Also, if auto install doesn't work, try the manual install, and if that still doesn't work, try contacting the author of the software. Or, make sure no scripts are before Freichat unless they are absolutely necessary.

Avatars in PHPBB and other forum software won't work!
It's not supported... Yet.

It shows noone is online even though there is!
Perhaps your Freichat is misconfigured or there are conflicting scripts/options on your server that are messing with them.

My web site has a member area in the visitors area for those who have signed up and an admin area which has CMS and where freiChat has been installed. After installation of the software, what will I do so that at the visitors end of my web site

1. Visitors can see the chat room page only and see those in the chat room, type message and click the usual Send button and get responses from fellow chatting members?

2. Visitors will not be able to see any other components of the freiChat software like those used to set up the software in the admin end (CMS) of my web site?

3. Visitors can sign in with the username and password they submitted when they signed up on my web site and gain access directly to the chat room like Facebook without having to register again for chatting separately?

Lastly, please who is a guest, and a user? These are one of the specifications in the freiChat software set up.

Hello I am using a content delivery network named cloudflare for Joomla now. It helped me to increase sitespeed. What i had to do was to change the Nameservers from my Hoster to the ones of cloudflare. Since the change, Freichat don´t work any longer. The Programm is im my Joomlafolder together with the other stuff. I hope you can help me to fix the problem. I would really like to use youre newest version with chatroomsupport. That was the last missing Thing for my website.

I get a screen that has the chat room box off to the left and the IM box at the bottom right. There is nothing in teh Main chat window and the IM is stuck on loading.....

I'd also like to place only the IM chat on the screen not the large chat room, how do I do this?
