Is there any translations repository where I can check whether needed translation already exists?

We are thinking on how we can best make it easy for people to download and contribute to translations.
If you have any suggestions let us know.

How can I add a new translation for my forum?

Assume, you want to create translation for french (fr_FR)

1. Go to sites/default/locale/
2. Copy the folder en_US to fr_FR
3. Open the folder, rename en_US.php to fr_FR.php
4. Edit the file accordingly.

To change language, open sites/default/constants.php and replace

define('LOCALE', 'en_US');

with

define('LOCALE', 'fr_FR'); //instead of fr_FR , write your language name

You can deploy online translation service on your server like this: http://pootle.translatehouse.org/
