FreiChatX.5.1.Alpha Install Help

Hi,

I have joomla 1.6.3 and i used your FreiChatX.5.1.Alpha release.
My joomla site is installed in the subdirectory /main so that is where i uploaded the folder freichat.

I had an error related to pdo, but read your forums and got that installed on the server then went
through the installation steps which worked fine,
I am a bit confused how all this works
I am at step 5 now, i choose the module download and i publisted that in the footer position.
I can see a small green icon for freichat on the bottom right of my site but it says nobody online when i login to the site.
Maybe that's because i'm the only one logged into my site?

Also when i goto the /freichat/server/admin.php to edit the paremiters i see an error when i login.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/mysite/public_html/main/freichat/server/admin_files/home/index.php on line 1

I'm sure that's easily fixed but i'm still confused if this thing is setup right.
I hate to leave something unfinished but im half asleep now, i'll check back later.

Also i notice the site is running kind of slow now that this is installed.

Thanks in advance

it looks like your FTP client has corrupted some files.
if you open the file /freichat/server/admin.php on your server , you will notice that it is not that same as the original.

upload the entire zip file and decompress it in the server itself.

Also i notice the site is running kind of slow now that this is installed.
Site going slow?? if you notice carefully, the chat loads only after the whole site loads!

Hi,

I never though of that, i use that firefox plugin fireftp.
The files look fine on my desktop if opened in notepad+
But viewing them on my site the code is all on one line.

Did i install the package in the right place though?

So i need to download that admin.php file again and try upload with a different ftp client?
I wil ltry that or maybe uninstall the whole thing and start over i dunno.

I got it working by using two test accounts, one on firefox and other in ie.
I though when i found freichat it would be an extension or tab in cb,
But i had no luck installing the cb package through cb and went with the alpha.

Hmm what to do next.

I'm a bit confused, should i be fixing eichat/server/admin_files/home/index.p?

Ah damn it i just tryed replacing that index.php file with another ftp client same story.
I'm not too sure how to do installs as root on linux servers.

Actually i still havent slept,

Thanks later
