Hi,

Please do not upgrade by importing the old database.

Upgrade directly from the backend, this way you do not lose any data

Hi,

Upload and overwrite the old files

This step can get very complicated.
Sometimes, over hundred of files get changed which makes manual overwrite very difficult.

Yep, you're right. Just ignore it smile . Because I modifiled a lot of file for my customization (SEO, Vietnamese, ALT for image,...).

What do you think about reverting source code feature? Just improve the upgrading process:

  • Press upgrade button on backend
  • Compress all files into codoforum_current_version.zip
  • Connect and download the new release via ftp
  • Unzip and overwrite
  • Upgrading scheme
  • ....
  • Admin can revert there source code from backend with codoforum_current_version.zip .

Hi,

The upgrader in the backend follows the exact same steps that you described.

May be we need to make the customizations more flixible so that they are retained after upgrade.
