As you can delete the history of the chatroom?

there is a option in the backend to delete chat history .

you can automatically clear?
for example, every 2 minutes

that feature was there in the previous versions. but it took a little more resources.

I guess it is better to delete all the messages once in a month.

Installed Freichat yesterday and am very impressed by the product - thank you!

Can't figure out how to clear the history though? I have 'delete message history' set to '0' but the history of chats still appears when you start chatting with the same user again - even if I clear the chat history using the client option or try to 'purge' using the admin option. The chatrooms also appear to be retaining chat from yesterday and I can't see how to clear that down.

I've checked in the database and can see the table with the history in - pressing the admin purge button does nothing. I have no option for clearing the chatroom history as a separate setting - should there be one?

Any ideas? Has the installation perhaps not happened correctly? I'm using the latest software version.

Also noticed that when I installed I had a write issue with configuration.php (I assume that is for Joomla?)(I'm using the Joomla CB version) so I had to change the file path to the Joomla root and that was okay. But, I now notice that arg.php does not seem to have been written to at all - which I assume is also the reason SMTP mail won't send as I cannot see anywhere to add a username/password to in the file.

Noticed the following error on the Admin page that I assume could be the route of my problems: "Warning: PDO::__construct() [pdo.--construct.php]: MySQL server has gone away in [my joomla directory]\freichat\define.php on line 24"

I checked server settings and PDO MySQL is enabled.

I tried installing 7.5.3 instead of the latest version. The PDO MySQL issue is not present, neither is the configuration.php write error. However, the following issues are still there:
1. Still cannot send emails using SMTP or Mail() - get the error: "Fatal error: Call to undefined method sendmail::connectDB() in [my joomla directory]\freichat\client\plugins\mail\sendmail.php on line 55" (figured out that you've moved smtp username/password to hardcode.php - right? but even if I add these there I get the same error)
2. Still cannot clear message history in client or chat rooms

Thanks for getting on to this - I shall look out for the patch version.

Still says 7.5.4 for downloading the latest version - does this mean the patch hasn't yet been created? Any idea on timescales or how I check for completion of the patch?

It is no longer a patch , because it now includes new feature and some bug fixes including your bugs . FreiChat v7.6 should be released within the next hour .
