Cant you modify your code to be a bit more simple, honestly, I love your creation, but why does it use so much resource!? My host wont be too happy about the bandwidth it's costing me.

Usually chat softwares consume more resources than any other software.
FreiChat tries to use the least resources possible. we have been fine tuning it from the past 2 years.


Things you could do to reduce the server load:

*Increase Delay(Chat speed) between consecutive requests from the backend.
*Enable Comet(Long polling), but please read the description as to how it affects your server before doing so.
*Disable chat for guests if possible.
