I'm trying to install version 7.5.4 in elgg 1.8.1 and elgg show me that (sorry, in spanish):

Archivo start.php faltante en el package no es un plugin Elgg válido. Visite la Documentación Elgg para consejos de solución de problemas

Not start.php, not valid plugin for elgg

I made the installation following your readme.txt from the file. Can you please help me ?

firstly , freichat is not a plugin so do not try to install it like a plugin . Try following the documentation given below
