I am trying to hide the chatroom slider. I changed the arg.php file and disabled the plugin. but this disables the chat feature and does not disable chatroom slider. pls advise.

You do not have to edit any files for disabling or hiding chatroom . You can disable the chatroom in the FreiChat backend in General settings .
