There is an input to enter your port , make sure you enter the correct port.

Please try doing a fresh install too.

I have done two installs and entered port 3316. The screen will not advance. Port 3316 is the correct port for the MySQL and works on all other programs.

Go to freichat/installation/testconnection.php
Then replace

die('Failed to connect using the given credentials.');

Can you allow it to work with that DB hostname? 1and1.com is a huge worldwide hosting platform and that is the string for MySQL databases on their dedicated servers. It's pretty standard.

Please download the latest version, v.8.6 , it supports the mentioned connection string.
