What I am trying to do is have the chat room open for the public and members but only let the members use private chat. I have unchecked the box to disable private chat for public but when i do it takes it away from the members as well.
What am I missing?

FreiChat v7 Joomla 2.5

You are using an old version of FreiChat . The option to disable private chat for guests was added in FreiChat v.8.2 . Please install the latest version.

I updated to v 8.5 and still cannot get it to turn off the private chat feature. Whats happening is that if i give the user access to something like send file and uncheck it for guest access then click modify it adds the check marks again and gives access to both.

ok, we have fixed that bug. please download the latest version i.e v.8.6

I will try it out and report back.

I have cleared my browser and purged everything on my site but when i try to assign the private chat to members only it stays active for both. I have tried this in firefox, chrome and IE.

Can you provide us with one test account for your website + FreiChat backend access , we will check what is causing this problem
