I was trying FreiChatX on local but it doesn't work..
I just installed it by following the procedure and then changing args vars:

$ses_username='userid'; /* Username stored in session*/ //Only index value
$ses_userid='userid'; /* Userid stored in session */ //Only index value

Note that $_SESSION['userid'] is is the id of each logged user.

I also included into the head tags:

Now i can see the chat windows on the bottom right corner of the page but it's always empty (no users).

I have some problems with FreiChat and my Joomla-template:

Online-Users are shown wenn I log in. But after some minutes, no online-users are shown any longer. This problem I found in Chrome and Firefox, but not in IE9.
Nearly the same happens with the status. When I set my status in Chrome or Firefox as "invisible" (or busy), in IE 9 the user is shown as offline/busy some seconds later. But when I change the status in IE9 and look at Firefox/Chrome, nothing changes. The user is still online.

I tested another template and there the problems isn´t. Where can be the problem in my template???

I found a problem concerning sending the e-mail with the chat-history.

In the e-mail the german special characters (like ä, ö, ü, ß,...) are not shown. Is that maybe just a wrong coding of the mail (no udf-8)? Is that easy to change in the code, maybe with html-code like "ä" for "ä"?

Just another thing:
Many parts of the actually FreiChat are not yet translated into German. I would be willing to translate FreiChat 5 completely (inclusiv the javascript-parts etc.) into German and send it to you for publishing on this site. So other german users don´t have to do that again and again for herself.

First of all THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this great new version of Freichat!!! I think it is nearly perfect now! :-)

But I have I little problem. I want to change a part of the freichat.js because the tooltip of the button "Send file" (arrow up) shows the same text like the button "Save Chat" (disk-symbol).

So when I change some uncritical parts in the freichat.js, freichat doesn´t start any more. When I copy back the original freichat.js all works fine again. Is there a "checksum-check" or something like that?? What can i do?

I have a joomla 1.5 site with cb 1.4

the messenger for cb is fantastic its freichat.3.4.0.beta.zip for community Builder

However when people log in, I can never see them yet sometimes they can see me

It seems to work with older chatters and they can be seen

But new chatters coming in can't be seen on the messenger

freichatx is not working with jomsocial 2.2 means when i install freichatx with joomla with jomsocial driver then after install i install joomla module and publish it but i doesn't seen chat window in my frontend but when i install freichatx 4.6 then chat window is showing in frontend i think there is something missing in it please check it yourself and fix this problem.
and when was the final version of freichatx 5.0 is releasing

i have installed freichat 3.5.0 with CB 1.4 and joomla 1.5 but draggable box and show and hide effects doesn't work rightly on firefox or ie8.

It seems to work better in Chrome.

I tried with and without "remove jQuery conflicts" and it's the same.

FreiChatX 5.0 at last has been released after a long wait of one month .

It was not a easy task to solve so many bugs that were coming up , which was the main reason
for the delay.

No doubt this is a alpha version , but many bugs have been solved and new features

chat friend list shows either the word "avatar" or the X square when user does not have an avatar uploaded.

Also, how tricky would it be to make the username at the top of the IM window link to that users profile?

You're getting a lot of post now... would be good for a new guy like me to search them for tips rather than asking again.. (no i wont look at all post on all pages - im too lazy)

i see video :) didn't realise it uses the joomal configuration.php in root

There is a wierd space at the top of the page, but only when somone else is online in the chat. It creates an avatar sized space at the top for each member, so if more people were online, that gap would become huge. Any idea what might be the cause of/solution to this?

Please you can give online friend module for joomla+jomsocial in your next release (5.0) so whenever user click on online friend photo then chat box open with it just like in facebook.It will be great.

I just installed FreichatX4.6.3 on Joomla 1.6.3 + CB 1.4 and now my main page says:
"Direct Access to this location is not allowed."

I tried removing the code I inserted into my index.php file and its still the same.
Please help as my whole site is down atm.

Is there any version of FreiChat which provides Customer Support. The latest version which I have tested on local allows guest to communicate with other guests, what I require is a customer support, means to say, guests can only chat with admin, and so does the members of the site. So is there any thing related to this that FreiChat has got to full fill the requirements of customer support?

i have installed FreiChatX 4.6.2 on a local network "mysite.local". The Site is also accessible from outside "www.mysite.de". From the local Network i have always "no user online". Can i install the Chat from a local Network to work with a real Domain?
In the Moment i have no Chance to test it from the domain :-(

I use this extencion and my charts start to reload the whole time .... so you can not really watch them..

How is it possible to run the chat on www. and without the www.????

Freichatx is not displaying the avatars in the buddy list window, it isntead shows some default image, and im not too sure where its grabbing it from, but how might I be able to get it it from the users profile?

I am using jomsocial 2.2 for the user profiles

Also, not sure if this is related, but I noticed that during the installation it asked what database(or something) I wanted to install freichat into, I went with "Joomla" as per the installation video, though i had an option for "joomla with jomsocial"

I have changed the last line as suggested in:

Go to modules/mod_freichat/jquery/js/jquery-ui.min.js
On the last line you will find
$jn = jQuery.noConflict();
Replace it with
var dom = {};
$jn = jQuery.noConflict(true);

However, that does not resolve the issue.

I want to know when you are releasing new version of freichatx (means 5.0) .I am waiting for the new version .I want to know the release date of it.What are the new features included in it. Will you include video and audio chat feature in it .will you put group chat feature it in .
And i also want to know about the new version freichatx desktop application.

I went through the installation video, step by step without any issues, copied the specified code into the specified template's index.php file, but nothing is showing up on my page, and there is no error log (i scoured the freichat folder looking for it).

Where might be a good place to start looking to get this working?

It is possible to change the language in this version ?

Above the online window it is not possible to change the status as
I saw on an other websites. Is this no possible with this version.

In the component when I changed the settings after pressing the submit

Thank you for making a very easy to use, install, and implement instant message or FB style chat. I was absolutely amazed how easy this was to do. Love the power of jquery!

I am running a phpbb site that already has a chat installed, but it's a process to send a private message to anyone in the chat. It takes more than a few extra keystrokes. After installing FreiChat, my users can now IM each other very easily and on a community website, that is a huge feature. And with some simple conditional formatting, I was able to make it invisible to users that are not logged in, rather than it just saying that you have to log in to use it.

I am very interested to follow further development of this product, especially the video chat feature that I have heard mentioned. When this is released, it will be another great addition to an already great product. Do you guys have a mailing list?

Glad I found FrieChat and I found it in the Google Code Base..... Nice work guys. Keep it up. My donation will be coming shortly.
