I use SMF 2.0.7 and I installed the chat and it works just fine on Google Chrome & Firefox, however my users that use IE are experiencing issues. Some can't see the chat at all. Some can see what is sent to them, but when they try to reply, their reply disappears & the other person never gets a response at all. Some can't see the whole chat box, etc. It seems like the problems with IE are all over the place. Any suggestions? When I try to view it from IE on my computer (I typically user Firefox) it doesn't show up at all for me.

I uploaded the gravatar for the email of the admin but the custom icon doesnt show...

I installed freichat into my joomla and moodle site.

Chat is working in Joomla pages and in some jomsocial pages.

But chatting input text box is stuck at the bottom of the browser.

Only if set as drag-able, input text box can be seen.

I would like to see even though it is not drag-able.

In my site, I used joomdle, jomsocial and mahara eportfolio plugins.

I also would like to see the chat box through out the site for all pages including moodle pages.

Hi! I want to install frei chat in my site. I use joomla 2.5 and CB 1.9. I uploaded the folder in my hosting account from Hostgator and when I try to install by entering the path http://my_website.com/freichat/installation/index.php this redirect to the home page of my site insteed to install page. I uploaded the folder freichat to public_html directory where I installed joomla too. What is happened?

I used this method = http://codologic.com/page/node/767 or trying to integrate the user database in the Chat system. I am using Elite Gaming Ladder CMS - The database table name is members - userid is id, username is name - I put it all in and am still having issues.

How do you lock other users from chatting in a group but allow them to see the chats you have with a particular person?

say for instance you want to interview someone but you want other users to see the chats but should not be able to interact?

My problem is that i have changed hardcode.php and mentioned the table name, username and id as per my database

When i m login to the website it is showing me the chat module but instead of displaying username from the table it is showing Guest-mdi something like that. Also note that in php code i set $ses variable with my session id.

Please help me out.

Hi FreiChat is a nice chat app every seen before, easy to integrate and providing more features.
I installed FreiChat.V.9.6 on my website, which is developed using Codeigniter Frame work(2.0).
I used Costume installation.

The Guest chat is working fine but when integrated with user table, getting the following errors.

Fatal error: Call to a member function rowCount() on a non-object in \freichat\server\drivers\base.php on line 215
if ($ban->rowCount() > 0)

if i put if (0) in this line to just skip this Then it showing the next error

Fatal error: Call to a member function fetchAll() on a non-object in \freichat\server\drivers\Custom.php on line 140
And the code on that line is $list = $this->db->query($query)->fetchAll();

I am new to Joomla 3.2.2 but I notice that by default it has a "Nav-up" button on the bottom right of every page to allow visitors to pop up to the top of the page.
Nice. But the Freichat interface covers this up.
Is there a way to move the interface a little bit to the left?

I'm using Joomla 3.2.2 and I use BT Login 2.5.6 as a login module.
The Freichat module appears, and the chatroom appears, but no users show.
If I log in as myself (the administrator), my name shows up in the list in the module.
But no regular users appear in the module.

I have created 2 test accounts for this:

Username: test1 Password: test1
Username: test2 Password: test2

Can you help me figure out why test1 and test2 do not show up in the FreiChat module?

I'm running the FreiChat V.9.6 Installation and I can't get past the choose a password screen. So far I tried using the Joomla, Joomla with CB and customized options to try and set the password, and no luck. Access to all freichat folders is set to 777. I click the proceed button and it just hangs there, doesn't do a thing. If I erase password and click proceed, it says password can't be blank. If I use adminpass, it says passwod can't be adminpass. So I'm stuck, can't get past that screen. Tried it on Firefox and Chrome.

Update:
Using firefox tools, the log shows the following message when clicking the button:

I installed Freichat and I'm able to access the backend. I installed the module, but the only thing displayed on the website is the module name, nothing else.

When I pressed ctrl+u then yes, freichat is displayed in the code.

I did not change the directory name or anything like that.

The chat itself works fine, but there are no alerts. No sounds, no popups like some websites do in chrome. once the user closes the chat window, by accident or on purpose, they can't find who they were talking to unless that person is still online and they remember the name. Without sounds if they are not watching for it a message could show up in another tab and they probably wont notice. Some users would also like to disable the chat, but I have no clue how to do that for individual users.

there is some messed up css in my chat room, i can't post any message!

I've been running Freichat 9.4 for some time with no problems. Upgraded and went through the install procedure. Users show up in Freichat backend.

The calls to relevant Freichat css and main.php are being sent and received. However, the main.php is blank - no code.

I've been through the permissions, checked hardcode.php, turned force JQuery to YES, turned off GZip compression as well.

My site uses Wordpress, W3Total Cache and CDN. I've turned off W3TC elements to check, Javascript and CSS minify is turned off for logged in users and also checked the CDN by turning that off for logged in users.

I have installed the newest version of Freichat in a Joomla! 2.5.14 version, but in the window's chat, don't load user list say some thing like "Loading User, list, querying data base".
