I have installed Freichat & it is working fine on local machine where the it is installed. however it is not working from on other machines which are in same network. I am able to access the pages where the code is embedded but it does not show the chat. Same page is working with chat fine on local machine.

after an installation problem (wrong folder) I reinstallad freichat at
http://www.lena-boehm.de/freichat.
and it seems to be working.
At least I can access administration and configure the module (i.e. changing the title for the chat).
But no other chat elements are visible, although the position-0 seems to be ok.
I would very much appreciate any help.

Hi,
First time user of the Freichat. I installed it quickly and successfully.
I would like to notify the admin of a problem I met when i tried to change the name of the pre-configured chat rooms.
Actually when you click on edit, the chat room name changes from the Password field and vice-versa.
I think it should be fixed.
The chat works like a charm and I have already made the Greek language. Where I have to send it to be included in the zip.

Hi ,
I'm trying to install freichat with phpbb.
Installation went fine, however when loading the site it keep "hanging" on "Getting list of online users .....".
Also there is no "demodata" in the chatrooms, while there is data available within de dbtable.
I mailed u a link to the site and 2 testusers.
I think its a driver problem.
What i tested so far:
- Tested on different versions of php and sql.
- Tested on different versions of phpbb (3.0.4 - 3.0.10)
- tested on remote (hosted) server and tested with a local server (usbwebserver)
- Tested with different browsers.
Could you please help me out?

I have integrated free version of freichat (9.3) with Dolibarr ERP system (dolibarr.org). when I open two different browsers on the webserver (win2008+xampp) pc and login with two different usernames, everything is OK. But if I connect to webserver from another computer I cannot even see the chat popup windows!
I change this line
$dsn='mysql:host=localhost;dbname=dolibarr'; //DSN
to this
$dsn='mysql:host=my_server_ip_address;dbname=dolibarr'; //DSN
in the hardcoded.php, but nothing changed.
Why freichat does not load?

I successfully installed FreiChat 9.2 for Joomla 3.0.3
What shows up on the assigned pages is the name of the chat, but now dialogs (users, rooms, menu etc.)
I followed the installation instruction and I tried some access options in the FreiChat options (Everyone, disable for guests = No etc.) and also for the modules options in Joomla (now it is Public).
What might be a problem is that I use a special template (av_pinboard) but I also tried the standard ones (protostar or Beez3).
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

I have use FreiChat last week, whenever i have to install this, I got JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file message... also it does not installed... So i have to search why this occurred, they told just change the xml file.. but in this did not have xml file... also i have use joomla 2.5.8.. please help me

so i checked out in the admin page. I looked an option called
Who should be on the online users list.
And it has an option to see only to your buddies
But the problem is: how can i make an user a buddie of my?

i keep getting Invalid FreiChat license: This domain is not registered to be used with FreiChat. I put my domain down but the smf is in mywebsite.org/home is there any way to fix this. Help would be greatly appreciated.
I recently installed Freichat on my community's website to provide an easy way for our members to communicate with each other. Since the software is not inexpensive, we decided on using the free version for now.
We wanted Freichat to replace our old PM system and while it does a good job at that when both users are online, problems arise when you need to send a message to an offline user and you haven't opened the chat previously. Is there any way to list or search for offline users as well, either through legitimate means or by altering the code? This would make Freichat a whole lot more useful for our purposes.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
I have a website with a front and back side. ( The backside is for employees, etc., ), I would like to incorporate Frie Chat on the "backside" of the site only. How can I do this? Right now it pops up on the front side of the site only.

I just installed Freichat 9.2, have read past posts to this forum about "no online users" appearing in the the Users screen...it just says Getting List of Online Users...
I have tried all suggested fixes to this problem and it still doesn't work. One post recommended a download of V. 8.7 fixes...I'm using 9.2
No connection to other Joomla registered users is possible - so this chat is worthless unless you talk to yourself.
Give us a fix.

I am trying to using video chat feature of Freichat on Joomla 2.5.11+ Jomsocial 2.6.1 on Ubuntu linux 12.04.2 LTS (as Joomla server). The chat works good but when I try to start video chat in Chrome (ver 28), I get " waiting to get access to camera and microphone" and nothing happens. I tried different laptops ( both Win7 and MacOS) with chrome and firefox (ver 22) and still cannot have video chat. should I open any port on ubuntu server or anything else?

just installed Freichat with PhPbb, al went fine.
Could log into adminpage once, after that when i try to log in and fill in the password its keeps getting blank.
Changing password or reinstall doesent change anything.
Any ideas?
Hello, I love Freichat and it works very well, the only issue I have is that no Guests ever appear online even though I know there are some as I sometimes get messages from them and they are still online..
Is there something that I am missing?
PS, not so much a bug, but I think that your own name should show up on the chat list as well, some users may confuse that with not showing up on the chat list as not being logged in.
I'm using Freichat 9.2 on a Joomla 1.5 driven website (www.ziekenhuisgeneeskunde.nl).
I'm logged in on 2 different browsers with 2 different accounts and yet it won't work. In firefox the private chatbox notices the other user, but in chrome I get 'no one online'.
I checked the forum for solutions and tried a lot of them but with no succes. Hope you can help me! Thanks in advance.

Hi, i see its not rare that people cant add custom avatar :) So i integrated successfully your grate plugin, all works fine. Now i'm trying to make custom avatar, and so far got nothing working... In config chat showing only for loggedin users, so i did:

in explorer 9 chat box X (close) is clear in basic theme when it should be blue. Is there a fix for this. Or can I change the x to close the chat box to black?
First let me say that I'm very happy with the way Freichat works. It's a clean, fast, and overall very nice program. It's something I've been wanting for a while and I am really glad I stumbled on it today.
Now, having said that, I'm having some issues with colors. My website is http://www.bladesofwrath.org/ I believe it's loading stylesheets from SMF (which makes sense), but I would really rather it not. Is there a way to have it just load it's internal themes and stylesheets and not load any of them from SMF?
Again, thank you for a really great product! If I can get this lined out I'm planning to buy it. :)
I HAVE TRIED CREATING A CLICK ABLE MENU FOR MY CHAT IN MY APPLICATION SO THAT VISITORS CAN CLICK ON THE MENU TO ACTIVATE FRIECHAT WHENEVER THEY LIKE, NOT THE CHAT COMING UP AND DISAPPEARING WHENEVER IT LIKES.

Hi, i downloaded freeichat for joomla, and i inserted new language (greek), by duplicating and renaming english.php
I have an issue, when i try to save the chat history. It opens with firefox, and the greek characters, do not show :(
Is there any way, either to download it as text, or at least, make greek characters look normal?

Would be great to use Freichat to support customers. Not only is it a good example of the product but also lets us know we have someone available.
I think I may have found a small bug in the latest Freichat 9.2.
In administration/Create chatroom, when you go to edit an existing room, the form boxes seem to be mixed up for instance if you put the room name in the password box the room will edit properly but if you type the name into the proper name box it will give an error that says "Fields cannot be left empty"
The main Create Chatroom form seems to work correctly however, its just the edit form that seems to be messed up.

But my friend is working in a Company, they have blocked JavaScripts and ActiveX apps.
So, Freichat is absolute distortet and not usable.
What can i do?
