I have been tweaking the current free version and am going to purchase the upgrade, but I wanted to know what would be involved in upgrading? I would hate to configure this all over again, but I would rather do it now before I go any further. :)

I have this linked to CB and when a user doesn't have a profile photo it uses one from its own directory. What I would like to do is have it use the one that I have specified from CB. Where can I change this?

Is there any mobile browser support? I haven't tested it on any other browser except for Chrome for Android and the User list appears correctly, but the message box to a user gets stuck in the corner.

Is there a fix for this or a way to de-activate it from running on mobile browsers?

I use this nice plugin on Elgg. I create a new theme for it and I have a problem in chatroom. The frei_smiley_chatroom_select image that is for select and sending a smiley in chatrooms can not load. The URL of the image is wrong and the problem is in the image name. It has the full URL onto the theme directory but it has no image name at the end of the URL. I think the problem is raised in FreiChat.make_url function that can not return right URL.
The URL is like this: "http://localhost/Elgg/web/mod/chat/vendors/freichat/client/jquery/freichat_themes/Test/"

Hi, I just installed "FreiChat for Community Builder" on joomla 2.5.
My problem is that nothing happens, a box in the corner of the screens popup and says:
"fetching...user..data
Kindly wait
loading...........".
I have no Clue how to solve this, so i googled around and tried to found a solution, the only thing i found was that i should select yes on "Remove Jquery Conflicts ". I've done that but it did not help.

also i get this code in the top of the page when i login to the backend of Freichat :
"Warning: PDO::__construct(): MySQL server has gone away in /customers/e/9/e/subsistance.se/httpd.www/freichat/define.php on line 77"

Also i run 2 templates on my site, Jm-biz_blue and Rt_afterburner, booth have the same problem.

I have been using freichat integrated with CB for over a year now and it has been a very good experience. The latest updates have made it even smoother and all the kinks seem to have been ironed out so just wanted to start off by saying thank you to the developer!

I am wondering if anyone has attempted / managed to merge the freichat history with a any sort of Private messaging System?

The aim is to have the chat history available and also to allow users to switch between offline (PMS) and online (freichat) messages easily to give an experience similar to Facebook.

Im everyone is familiar with the FB chat way of working but here are a just a couple of points that would be great to achieve:

- Messages sent in freichat stored in history and user is able to read through
- Messages sent by someone to an offline user through the PMS also appear in the freichat chat window
- Switch between freichat instant messaging and the PMS easily to continue your conversation
- Integration (plugin?) with CB with a tab that can be used to retrieve the chat history
- Ability to clear chat history / specific conversations for privacy would of course be a must

The main benefit of this is that keeping the history in this way makes the entire experience a lot more personal. A PMS keeps users coming back often just to check on their messages and see if anyone has left a message and integrating it with the chat just makes the whole site tie together nicely and removes the feeling of a site created with 'bolt-ons'.

To be honest it would be great to see the entire solution offered by codologic as mentioned earlier my experience has been great so far with what has been offered. I am wondering how many people would be interested in something like this? I suppose as an incentive this would be a great commercial addition to Freichat ;)

Any replies to whether or not this is a good concept and if others can benefit from it would be appreciated and of course feel free to add to the list of requirements above!

I've set up freichat here. It's J2.5.7 with CB 1.8.1.
It shows the correct avatar in the list of users, but if I start a chat with another user, it doesn't show my name at the top of the chat, and when I say something it shows "Me:" at both ends, and not the name in the other end.

In my cpanel PDO-MYSQL is enabled and i m using core PHP. While selecting Integration type to Customized. It is asking all the details of server details.
When i m clicking on Proceed nothing is happening. Please help me out

i was just working around that beautiful chat but i faced a strange issue that i'm not able to manage:
It appear only in Chrome altough IE and Firefox everything flow perfect:
the userlis dialog box work corrctly in the bottom left corner of the page, but the chat box conversations modules remain z-indexed under the footer module of the template (Ja T3) so it does'nt result visible when a message must be sent or received. But very strange that happens only in CHrome.

I have noticed that when you add more smiley's, the new smiley's do not show up inside of the table because the area that the smiley's are in doesn't expand with the new ones, see picture from the link below.

I even tried a fresh install by deleting the database and the files on the server, I also cleaned my browser cookies and it does it with the three browsers I have tried.

I installed it using Joomla with CB configuration.

Everything was working fine until I updated it.

Any help you can give me would be great.

I can also create a back-end account so you can find out whats wrong.

Hello everyone.

I have been using Freichat for a while and everything was fine.
But after the last Google Chrome update, it got a bug in this specific browser.
Now its like the chat windows get under the content frame, the objects of the content just slide trough the chat windows over them, instead of under them.
This makes it impossible to write and hard to read.

In the rest of the browsers it still works fine.

Do you know something about this??
