How can I use UTF-8 encoding with freichat???
The problem is that Greek characters are shown as ?????????

Joomla version: 1.5
MySQL version: 5.1
PHP version: 5.2.16

I was looking forward to FreiChatX 5 because I couldn't install previous versions due to the backtick problem. Now I find that version 5 does not install at all.

Here's what I'm doing:
1) Go to http://intranet/freichat/installation/
2) Choose "Joomla" from the pulldown menu (installation fails for other options as well)
3) Confirm that arg.php is writable and configuration.php is readable
4) Confirm that all DB parameters are correct

When I click the final submit button, however, I get an http 500 error. When I check arg.php, $installed has been set to "true". When I check phpMyAdmin, no tabes have been created.

I had no problems installing the old FreiChatPure 2.5.0, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

How can I go about configuring the chat windows to take you the users profile by clicking on the username at the top?

I set the chat to use as Friends only, and it keeps popping up all users in the chat list.

another error that happens, some people are using chat as others, I just like X but I'm in the chat appears Y.

This second error is sporadic, but happens every day.

Hello. I tested your nice chat. I have to tell you that i am surprise because it offer a lot of options and they work fine.
I report to you the bugs that i found:
1) translator seems don't work, please let me know how i have to use it, maybe that i wrong something;
2) "disable" text present on the windows of languages in chat module isn't aligned correctly;
3) tooltip text of icon "save conversation" and "send file" is the same ("send file"). I think that it should be different;
4) problem with send file function: the box doesn't show the list of allowed file extensions (this is important for user), when user send file, he get this error "Upload directory does not have required permissionsFile ", why? But also with this error, he receive inthe chat windows the message "[Sent succesfully!]" and the other user that receive the file see the file name and once he click on its link to open it, he see this message "Sorry, the file doesn't seem to exist." Also please set that feature that once user click into link file to open it, automatically open the file in other browser window and not the same.

Hello. In chat settings i found the settings of "send conv by mail" plugin. What do it do? Do i have to fill the relative fields with my smtp data or leaving yours?

Hi. It would be very usefull allow admin to set, on the chat settings, set acl rule according to joomla user group (registered, author....) allowing some chat feature as sending files.....

hope I can it explain good enough, because my english isn't very well.

First, I was more than happy to find this wonderful chat, its a great Projekt!
The Installation works fine, but if I want to configure the Details in the Backend, it isn't possible.
I can choose what I want, nothing changes.

In Frontend the chat works fine, only it doesn't take the Changes.

I tried to uninstall the chat, reinstall, different versions, different Browser, many times. Everything I got the same results. What can I do?
It would be great, If I can use this chat!

Apache/2.2.16 (Debian)
PHP: 5.3.3-7+squeeze1

Ah..Before I forget it: Where can I turn the Sounds off? Thats really important for me.

Hello. I noticed that i see two modules, one the chat window and another that is freichat standard module. If i don't assign this to any joomla menu i don't see also the chat window. I wish i see only chat window and not the module. How can i do?

Somehow I minimized my chat box and now I can't get it back. It flashes everytime I browse to a new page bt other than that its gone

Hello. I know that i can have access to freichat settings writing the following url: www.mydomain.com/freichat/adm......
I know that user have to insert the right password, but i want to protect better the chat settings so i wish i know if i can rename the freichat folder using another name so to change this standard url.

i transfered freichat to root folder and when i try to install it ..in LICENCE info When i Press "ACCEPT" .. I again come to LICENCE info .. where again i press ACCEPT and it doesnt go further .. :(

Hello. I try to follow your instructions to install freicht on my site. The problem is that i have a yootheme template with warp 5.5 framework. So the index.php content doesn't have the section head /head. It is different. So i can install your chat in this case? I don't find neither the index.html.

Why are all messages in the database are deleted at midnight, even the time for saving in the setup is "1 day"?

And is there a problem with the sound-notification or is it not yet implemented in 5.0? I can´t here a sound in IE and Firefox.

After installed your new release Freichat 5.0 with all the prerequisites found into your readme.txt, I find none result on my screen (with chrome, and firefox): nothing about Freichat on the screen of my site !
I found none problem during the installation.

ps: first, I have deleted all about the previous version.

I have installed the chat successfully and used the module to add the code snippet to Joomla. I have published the module in the same position as the login module.

Hi i am using joomla 1.5.22 and jomsocial 2.2.1 and i just installed FreichatX5.0.
I downloaded and installed also the module avoiding to install the code manualy.
I have enabled the module however its completly empty.Not talking about not showing online contacts but its not working at all like it doesnt exist. In Internet explorer i get the following page error:
